Competitive program KTSC offers competitive synchro programs for swimmers competing at both provincial and national levels. Swimmers in Tiers 1 through 5 compete within the province and those in Tier 6 and 7 have the opportunity to compete at the national level. Swimmers entering this program must be able to swim 2 lengths of the 25 meter Trent pool. Competitive programs begin with 4 hours of pool time and an additional hour of dry land time. Swimmers in this program are coached by NCCP certified coaches. Registration fees for the competitive program include spacing suit and competitive show suit. Entry fees to all meets are also included. Each athlete will also receive a team and individual photo as well as any awards for Star levels completed during the season. Swimmers are responsible for purchasing their own figures suit and club track suit and swim bag. Recreational program KTSC's recreational program is open to swimmers age 7 and up. Both one and two hour programs are offered but swimmers are strongly encouraged to participate in 2-hour programs if they are in their second or advanced years in the program. Recreational synchro is offered on either Sunday evenings from 5 – 7 pm or Monday evenings from 6 – 8 pm . There is no recreational swimming during school holidays (Christmas, March Break, Easter). Swimmers are coached by experienced synchro coaches and often there is an assistant. The average ratio of swimmers to coaches in this program is 1:5. Recreational swimmers are provided with one pair of nose clips and the swimsuit for the annual Splash Bash swim show. Included in the registration fees as well is an individual and team photo. Entry fees to recreational figures and routine meets are included should the swimmers decide to attend these events. Masters program KTSC offers both a recreational and competitive option for swimmers over the age of 18. The competitive program is offered with a 2 hour minimum per week and registration fees are based on enrollment and number of hours in the water. Registration fees cover entry fees to East regionals and Provincial Masters Championships. The recreational or “business ladies” program is a two hour per week recreational program. Fees include entry to the recreational figures and routine meets, should the team decide to attend. All Masters athletes will perform in the annual Splash Bash swim show. In the masters program fees do not include the routine/show suit. |
