Dana Fulton, Laura Mills, Keelia Quinn de Launay, Morgan Curtis, Hannah Palmer

Kawartha Trent had five entries in the Synchro Ontario Trillium recreational routine meet in Orangeville. All had great swims and everyone landed in the top two of their respective categories.

In level one, the team of Kaitlyn Neuman, Sarah Curtain, Charlene Allen, Miranda Stever, Katherine Scheuermann, Hailey Paget and Tessa Smith were second in the 9 – 10 year old class. They are coached by Danielle Gibson and Claire Burnard. Also in Level one, Hannah Palmer delivered a first place solo. “She normally swims as part of a trio but the other two could not be here so we re-choreographed the routine and she swam beautifully!” said coach Gibson, “She showed a lot of maturity for a young swimmer and I hope she stays with the sport for many years!”. Rounding out the Level one events, the 11 – 12 year old team class was won by Morgan Curtis, Dana Fulton, Laura Mills, Sylvia Lubyen and Keelia Quinn de Launay who were coached by Christine Creelman and Caitlin Flynn. “Their high energy routine to music from hairspray really impressed the judges” said Creelman.

In the Level 2 11 – 12 year old trio competition, KTSC’s Emily Beckett, Nicole Mills and Sarah Sperry were first. Meghan Grills is their coach and was pleased with the swim, “They really enjoy swimming together and put a good effort in the water every time!” The masters trio of Nancy Creelman, Karen Seymour and Maria Shuwera also won their event. They are coached by Claire Burnard.

Recreational Coordinator for the club, Holly Bosnell was thrilled with the day. “Our swimmers performed well, we (the coaches) could not have asked for better performances from the girls.” KTSC’s entire club will perform their end of year swim show on May 3 rd and 5 th at Trent. Performances start at 6 pm both nights.

The competitive swimmers remain in the pool for the next month preparing for Tier Championships and Masters Nationals.
