Kawartha Trent Swimmers Pleased
Kawartha Trent Synchro Club's competitive tier 1, 2 and four teams competed at Ontario 's Provincial Tier Championships in Nepean last weekend.
In the tier one team event, swimmers Sydney Andrew, Charlotte Bedlington, Richelle Demers, Sydney Hawthorne, Nicole Hicks-Casey and Abbie Lombardo placed sixth for the championship and fifth in routine. The team is coached by Amanda Roberts. Roberts was pleased, “There were fourteen teams at this event and the girls worked really hard this season. I'm really happy for them
In the largest event of the meet, the Tier 2 team event, KTSC's team of Ellen Jamieson, Morgann Kirk, Audrey Masse, Emma MacDonald, Christa Plumley, Katelyn Wingett and Emily Vance placed 13 th in championship and 12 th in routine in a field of 30 teams. This group is coached by Tracey Leeson and Kassie Bosnell. “They had a great swim in prelims and we were pleased to be given a chance to preswim in finals. The opportunity to preswim is given to the top routines not qualifying for finals. It gave our girls a chance to swim for pure enjoyment and they had one of their best swims of the season.” said Leeson.
In the Tier 4 team event, Caitlin Flynn, Carley Shewen, Kaileigh van den Berg, Leah Varden and Alisa Woods finished in 9 th place for both championship and routine. This group is coached by Holly Bosnell, “The girls had a their best performance of the competitive season. The field was very competitive and I'm very happy with the performance of the girls.”

Tier 4: Carly Shewen 36th ; Caitlyn Flynn 46th ; Leah Varden 49th ; Alisa Woods 55th .
Kawartha Trent's competitive masters team attends their National Championships in June and Sydney Hawthorne and Charlotte Bedlington take their solos to the Trillium 12 & under provincial Championships later this month. Registration for the 2007/2008 season will take place in September.
