Synchro Swimmers Headed to Nationals

Kawartha Trent Synchro Club's Tier 6 team leaves for Espoir National Championships in New Brunswick on May 22 nd . This marks the final meet of the season for the national stream swimmers. The team of Megan Feige, Christine Creelman, Claire Burnard, Danielle Gibson, Katie Giles and Laura Henderson are looking forward to the trip. For Feige, Gibson, Giles and Henderson this is a position they have found themselves in before, “I'm very excited about the trip and the competition” said Feige, “We've worked really hard since Divisionals!”. For Burnard and Creelman, it will be their first Nationals, “I'm nervous and excited at the same time” said Creelman. “(coaches) Kim and Catherine have done a good job of getting us ready to compete.”

The team is coached by Kim Mitchell and Catherine Hoggarth. “We're really proud of the girls” said Mitchell “ they've kept improving all season long so we are hoping for our best swim at Nationals”. The team swims to a collection of music from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie and really enjoy the character of the music. “They get to be strong and creative with this music and it really works for them” said Hoggarth.

The team's Nationals experience gets underway with spacing practice on the 23 rd and the figures competition on the 24 th . Team prelims is set for Friday and Finals on Saturday. The club's Head Coach, Tracey Leeson commented, “The whole of Kawartha Trent is wishing the girls a good swim and a wonderful Nationals Experience!”
