Synchronized swimming is a sport that combines aspects of swimming, dance and gymnastics into routines of elaborate moves in the water accompanied by music. Synchro develops a high level of physical fitness, while teaching the athlete grace, poise, confidence and pride. The girls develop a team and club spirit as they gain experience throughout the season. As a synchronized swimmer, the athlete learns respect, cooperation, commitment and above all, good sportsmanship.

The Kawartha Trent Synchro Club (KTSC) is the only synchronized swimming club in Peterborough and the surrounding area. Founded in the late 1960s, the Kawartha Trent Synchro Club is based in the Alan Marshall pool at Trent University. Our programs are taught by dedicated and successful coaches, many of whom swam with the club as competitive swimmers. The club’s board of directors is entirely run by parent volunteers.

Kawartha Trent Synchro provides novice, masters and competitive Synchro swimming opportunities. Swimmers as young as 5 years old may begin in our Swim Synchro program. Our competitive program allows athletes to compete at regional, provincial and national level meets. During the 2009-2010 season our competitive swimmers won 17 medals, travelled to New York for the Age Group Championships and competed at the Ontario Winter Games.
